Basic Elements

1001 AND

The application of pressure at both 1 "and" 2 results in an output at 3. Output pressure will be the lower of the two input pressures.

1002 OR
(Shuttle check valve)

Applying pressure to either input 1 "or" input 2 produces an output at 3.

1003 YES

Port 1 (typically supply) becomes an output at port 3 when pilot 2 is applied. Provides approx. 2:1 pressure amplification.

1004 NOT
(Inhibitor)

Port 1 (typically supply) normally flows through port 3. When pilot 2 is applied, output 3 is shut off, and down-stream air is exhausted.

LATCH

When supply pressure 1 is present, a momentary pilot at 2 will result in a maintained output at 3 (thereby "latching" pilot 2); output 3 is maintained until input 1 is dropped.

MEMORY

A momentary pilot pressure at 2 (the "set" pilot) results in a maintained output at 4 of supply pressure 1. A momentary pilot pressure at 3 (the "reset" pilot) will drop the output. If both pilots are present, the 1008A Memory resolves the conflict by allowing pilot 2 ("set") to prevail; the 1008B Memory resolves the conflict by allowing pilot 3 to prevail. At start-up or after interruption of supply 1, Memories automatically reset to "off".

FLIP-FLOP

Supply air 1 is directed to either primary output 5 or complementary output 4, depending upon the last momentary pilot signal (2 or 3) received by the valve. At start-up, primary output 5 is reset ("off") and complementary output 4 is set ("on"). When both pilots are present, the 1030A resolves the conflict by allowing pilot 2 ("set") to prevail; the 1030B resolves the conflict by allowing pilot 3 ("reset") to prevail. A momentary interruption of supply 1 will reset the flip-flop to the start-up condition of primary output 5 being "off" and complementary output 4 being "on."

1024 NAND

Inverts the "And" function of inputs 2 and 3.

1025 NOR

Inverts the "Or" function of inputs 2 and 3.
